The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) is investigating two drownings that occured Friday, May, 11th. The report states that a boater was at the Cove Creek boat ramp and noticed something in the water that appeared to be a person. Pickett County Deputies arrived on the scene at around 8:30 p.m. when a female body was retrieved from the water identified as 35 year old Janet Shattles of Crossville. After finding an empty boat floating in water, it was believed that a male subject was missing and feared to be drowned as well. On Monday morning, May 14th, the body of William Napier, 29, of Deer Lodge, Tennessee was recovered.
