Attention property owners in Pickett County

I have been made aware of an official looking letter that is being sent to some property owners in Pickett County. This letter is from an organization called Local Records Office with an address of Nashville, TN. They are offering to get you copies of your land records for a fee of $89. They are NOT connected with this office in any way and they do say in their letter that they are not associated with any Governmental Agency. This may or may not be a legitimate organization.
HOWEVER, Pickett County property owners can get copies of their land records at NO COST in the register of Deeds Office. Please be cautious if you get one of these letters. For more information call me at 864-3316.
