Commissioners June 11th meeting action

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session at 6:00 p.m. on June 11, 2012. Present and presiding was the Honorable Doug Manis, Chairman and Robert Lee, Clerk of the Court. All commissioners were present except for Daniel Masiongale who was absent.
The following is action taken at that meeting:
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Tony Beaty to approve the agenda as amended. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Becky Matheny and seconded by Tony Beaty to approve the minutes from May 21, 20112 County Court Meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve new Notaries: Daniel Logan Capps, Rachael Leann Lee, Nicholas S. Meadows and Haley B. Simpson. Notary Renewals: Debbie Cross and Dolores Storie. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Tony Beaty to approve May 2012 Monthly Reports for County General Fund, Debt Service Fund and Solid Waste Fund as presented by Johnie Neal, County Executive. All ayes. Motion carried.
No action taken on bid for Pickett County Government propane gas.
•Carried a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve the Dixie Cafe in the amount of $3.24 per meal for Pickett County Government Jail Bids for FY 2012/2013. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Becky Matheny and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve Resolution #11/12-7, contributions to UCHRA FY 2011/2012 on its 2nd and final reading as presented by Mr. Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve Pickett County Highway Dept. Budget Amendment #6 for FY 2011/2012 as presented by Johnie Neal, County Executive. All ayes. Motion carried.
Approved a motion by Lana Rossi and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve County General Budget Amendment #6 FY 2011/2012 as presented by Johnie Neal, County Executive. Carried a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded Lowell Winningham to approve Pickett County Highway Dept. Budget Amendment #4 as presented by Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Kenny Tompkins and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve Resolution #11/12-8 to adopt a continuing budget tax rate for FY beginning July 1, 2012. All ayes. Motion carried.

•Passed a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Colan Huddleston to adjourn until June 25, 2012 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Pickett County Library for a special called meeting to discuss and vote to approve the funding for the Pickett County Budget for FY 2012/2013. All ayes. Motion carried.
