First fatality in Pickett County in three years

First fatality in Pickett County in three yearsA one vehicle accident has claimed the life of an Albany man, making it the first fatality since 2009.
The accident reports that on Sunday, June 24 at approximately 7:50 p.m., the driver of a 1996 Plymouth Neon, Robert Dale Rains, 52, of Albany, was driving west on Lick Creek Road. While negotiating a curve, the vehicle lost control flipping and striking a bluff. Rains was pronounced dead at Livingston Regional Hospital.
The three passengers didn't receive any injuries and were wearing seatbelts.
The report stated that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Stanley Roberts investigated the accident.
