First fatality in Pickett County in three years
A one vehicle accident has claimed the life of an Albany man, making it the first fatality since 2009.
The accident reports that on Sunday, June 24 at approximately 7:50 p.m., the driver of a 1996 Plymouth Neon, Robert Dale Rains, 52, of Albany, was driving west on Lick Creek Road. While negotiating a curve, the vehicle lost control flipping and striking a bluff. Rains was pronounced dead at Livingston Regional Hospital.
The three passengers didn't receive any injuries and were wearing seatbelts.
The report stated that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Stanley Roberts investigated the accident.
