Stolen property recovered after investigationWhile Pickett County deputies were investigating stolen property from Pickett County, information lead to more stolen property taken from Putnam County.
On Wednesday, June 13th, Pickett County Sheriff Dana Dowdy along with Chief Deputy Steve Wilber and Deputy Malcom Johnson, recovered many stolen household items at a camper off Obey River Road. Charges are currently pending for this investigation.
A four-wheeler was reported stolen in April from Pickett County residence and was recovered in Cheatham County and returned to owner in June. Michelle Garrett, 26, and Chris Wood, 27, both of Cookeville are charged with theft over $1,000 with other charges pending.
Based on the information obtained during these investigations, Pickett County deputies were able to help the Putnam County Sheriff's Department recover a tractor from Putnam County. The tractor was first believed to have been destroyed by the March tornado.
