County Commission July 16th meeting

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session at 6:00 p.m. on July 16, 2012. Present and presiding was the Honorable Doug Manis, Chairman and Robert Lee, Clerk of the Court. All commissioners were present. The following is action taken at that meeting:
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve the agenda as amended. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve the minutes from the June 11, 2012 county court meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Terry Manis and seconded by Becky Matheny to approve the minutes from the June 25, 2012 special called county court meeting. All ayes, except for Tony Beaty who voted nay. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Terry Manis and seconded by Becky Matheny to approve the minutes from June 25, 2012 special called county court meeting. All ayes, except Tony Beaty who voted nay. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Colan Hudleston and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve Notary Renewals: Debra K. Wright, Mylinda Reagan and Judy C. Robbins. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Colan Huddleston to approve Tri-County Propane in the amount of $1.189 per gallon, for Pickett County Government Propane Gas for FY 2012/2013. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Daniel Masiongale and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve Resolution #12/13-1 to authorize the County Executive to execute a contract between the state of Tennessee Department of Transportation and Pickett County Government. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Darrell Garrett to approve FY 2011/2012 yearly report submitted by Jennifer Anderson, Trustee. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Other Business
Kelly Keisling to address the court concerning the Industrial Park
•Passed a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Doug Manis to hire James R. Brown for Pickett County Attorney. Mr. Brown will begin August 1, 2012 at a rate of $4830.00 per month. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Discussed TVA Energy Report for the EMS, Library and Community Center and approved a motion by Daniel Masiongale and seconded by Becky Matheny to make lighting changes for Pickett County Government Buildings as per VEC study. The lights to be changed need to have a less than 5 year payout. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Becky Matheny to adjourn until the next regular County Court meeting on August 20, 2012 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Pickett County Library without roll call.
