Pickett County votes in new Tax Assessor

The Pickett County General Election and State Primary was held on Tuesday, August 2nd.
The county general election was for the Tax Assessor and 1st and 2nd School Board District. Democratic candidate Kim Logan was voted as Pickett County's new Tax Assessor with vote total of 726. The incumbent Larry Anderson, received a total of 662 and has served the county in that position for 16 years.
School Board race for First District results were close, incumbent Jimmy Storie won with 232 against Norma Mitchell who received 197 votes. Jerry Mitchell ran unopposed for the 2nd District School Board.
A total of 2,617 voters cast their votes during this election of the 4,179 registered voters.
