Two arrested on drug charges

On September 7th, around 7:30 p.m., officers went to 240 Greenview Drive, to pick up Barry Collett, 45, 240 Greenview Drive, Byrdstown, on a outstanding warrant in Clay County.
New drug charges were also issued in Pickett County after a lengthy drug investigation. He was charged with two counts of sale and delivery of Schedule III, and Sale and Delivery of Schedule IV. Deputies working the case were Sheriff Dana Dowdy, Drug Investigator, Malcolm Johnson, Deputy Kevin Conner, and Deputy Mike Worley.
On September 12, around 4:30 p.m., the Pickett County Sheriff's Office received a call about a suspicious vehicle at the Dollar General Store in Byrdstown.
Phillip LaRue, 37, 1129 McGhee St., James-town, Tn. was charged with Possession of Schedule II (Methamphetamine), Possession of Schedule II (Morphine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Officers working this case were Drug Investigator Malcolm Johnson, Sgt. Elbert Conner, and Sheriff Dana Dowdy.
