Trick or treating will be on Wednesday, Oct. 31st

Pickett County Sheriff Dana E. Dowdy has made the following statement concerning trick or treating, “Due to several churches already having scheduled their Trunk or Treat activities, I have decided we will celebrate Halloween on the day on which it falls which is WEDNESDAY, October 31st.
The celebrating of Halloween is usually not changed unless it falls on a Sunday, and we are going to stick with this tradition. I appreciate Mayor Thompson working with me on this matter. I am sorry for any confusion this situation has caused.”
