Register for Byrdstown Christmas Parade Dec. 8th

Register for Byrdstown Christmas Parade Dec. 8thsubmitted by: Chris Thompson, Mayor of Byrdstown

I hope everyone has been through Byrdstown at night within the last few days. The Town Christmas Tree is decorated as well as Town Hall and the usual lighted decorations on the light poles. The Christmas Parade will soon be here. The parade will be held Dec. 8th and this year’s theme is "A Patriotic Christmas".
The deadline to turn in registration forms to be eligible for prize money is Dec. 4th. Registration forms can be picked up at Town Hall Mon-Fri, 7:00-4:30.
Be sure and participate in this year’s parade to show your support for all of our military who have and are paying a great price to protect the freedoms we all enjoy here in the United States. Please encourage as many Veterans and Military personnel as possible to participate. They just need to contact Glenn Williams, Commander of Hull-Chapter 5. Glenn's phone number is 864-4104. We are going to borrow some of the military vehicles that have been acquired by the Sherriff's Department for some military members to ride in. The highway department will also have a deuce and a half military vehicle for their employees to ride in and give out candy.
Don't forget about all of the different categories and the prize money for each. Every year I notice that many people here in the county do a wonderful job decorating their homes but never fill out a registration form to be eligible for the prize money.
If you decorate, please come on by and fill out a registration form. You have nothing to lose because there is "no entry fee" for any of the classes.
I want to remind everyone again that we will have Mr. and Mrs. Clause and their Reindeer again this year. They will set up in front of the Library. Everyone loved them last year. They will be doing pictures again this year. You can take pictures with your own camera with them at no charge or they will take the pictures and instantly print them for a small cost.
We will also have "free" hot chocolate and cookies at Town Hall, so be sure and stop by!
