Town of Byrdstown special called meeting held

The Town of Byrdstown Board of Mayor and Aldermen met in a Special Called Meeting on Friday November 30, 2012 at Town Hall. Those present were Mayor Chris Thompson, Recorder Johnny Sells, Alderwoman Opal Clayborn, Alderman Johnny Bilbrey, Nathaniel Green, with James C. Hailey & Company, James Garrett, Town Engineer, Dennis South, Wastewater Plant Supervisor, Jimmy Little, and Stacy Moody.
The purpose of the meeting was to open and award bids for water and wastewater equipment and installation projects.
The mayor called the meeting to order at this time Town engineer James Garrett and Nathaniel Green presented the one bid received for each of the three projects that was advertised. After discussing the projects and only one bid being received which was not opened. A motion was made by Opal Clayborn to advertise and rebid the projects. A second was voiced by Johnny Bilbrey and with all members voting aye the motion carried.
With this being the only topic of discussion, a motion was made by Johnny Sells to adjourn. A second was voiced by Johnny Bilbrey and with all members voting aye the meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
