Pickett K-8 & Allons Elementary basketball teams raise $2749.00 for Breast Cancer Awareness

Pickett K-8 & Allons Elementary basketball teams raise $2749.00 for Breast Cancer Awareness Pickett County K-8 & Allons Elementary basketball teams recently held two ‘Pink Out’ events to help raise funds and awareness of breast cancer in the Upper Cumberland.
Each team held their event in conjunction with a basketball game against each other at Allons Elementary and then at Pickett County K-8 school. The teams sold t-shirts and held drawings for pink basketballs that had been signed by all team members. All funds where donated to the Susan G. Komen Upper Cumberland Affiliate.
Last year, Susan G. Komen for the Cure Affiliates—working in concert with local organizations—awarded more than $93 million in needs-based community grants.
That's in addition to the 25 percent of the income Affiliates contribute toward the many millions the organization invests each year in promising research. For more information, call 931-303-0096 or visit www.komenuppercum
