Commissioners approve monthly reports at meeting

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session January 21, 2013. Present and presiding was the Honorable Lana Rossi, Chairman and Robert Lee, Clerk of the Court. All commissioners were present except for Rebecca (Becky) Matheny was absent. The following is action taken at that meeting:
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Eddie Holt to approve the agenda as mended. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Daniel Masiongale to approve the minutes of the Dec. 17, 2012 county court meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Darrell Garrett and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve Notary Renewals: Kimberly Garrett, Phillips M. Smalling, Onnie Winebarger and Helen Winebarger. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Eddie Holt to approve Monthly reports for December FY 2012/2013 for County General Fund, Debt Service Fund, and Solid Waste Fund as presented by Johnie Neal, County Executive. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Terry Manis and seconded by Tony Beaty to approve Sheriff Dept. to crush the old cars behind the Ambulance Service. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve Pickett County Highway Dept. 2013 Road List and Inventory List as presented by Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Tony Beaty to approve Resolution 12/13-5 for Pickett County to participate in the Tennessee Corrections Institute's County Corrections Partnership Initiative. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Darrell Garrett to approve Resolution 12/13-6 Tennessee code annotated, Section 54-4-401, which authorizes the Department of Transportation to consult with local officials to designate those highways and roads that are considered of sufficient importance to be included in the state aid highway system. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Other Business
a) David Dowdy to address the court concerning Track Loader
•Passed a motion by Doug Manis and seconded by Tony Beaty to allow the Pickett County Landfill Supervisor to pursue bids and purchase a track loader for the Pickett County Landfill with County Executive Johnie Neal's approval. All ayes. Motion carried.
b) Engineer Report - Kevin Ray
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Eddie Holt to adjourn until the next regular County court Meeting on February 18, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Pickett County Library without roll call.
