New DAV van inscribed “In Memory of Mike Sells”
A special addition has been made on the new DAV van which reads "In Memory of Mike Sells".
When Mike passed away in August from pancreatic cancer, he was serving as Senior Vice Commander for the Hull York Ch.5.
Mike loved his DAV brothers and was dedicated to helping Veterans in any way he could. He was proud to be in the Honor Guard, having served in over 100 funerals and being in the Color Guard.
He performed in the Hee Haw shows given by the DAV and DAVA as the character who was the husband of the wife nagger played by Shirley Moody. While that is atypical of Shirley, Mike was a quiet person and no one was expecting him to do anything like that, so he got lots of laughs.
The family of Mike Sells, along with the DAV, are proud of what he accomplished and he will be missed very much.
