Pickett SCD receives Conservation District of the Year Award recently

Pickett SCD receives Conservation District of the Year Award recentlyThe Pickett County SCD recently attended the Tennessee Association of Conservation District Annual Meeting in Gatlinburg. Soil Conservation Districts from across the state attended the two-day meeting discussing issues that each district is facing and new technology of Soil Health.
The meeting closed with an Awards Banquet where the Pickett SCD was presented “Conservation District of the Year”. The award was sponsored by TVA for the SCD who goes the extra mile in implementing these programs to the landowners in their county. The Pickett SCD implements practices with landowners to improve the natural resources of the land, educational projects with students, field days, demonstrations and community events. Steven Gray and Patricia Shelley were presented with Outstanding District Employee awards for their hard work with the Pickett SCD.
