Farmer Appreciation Day

The Overton/Pickett Farm Service Agency will host Farmer Appreciation Day on Wednesday, June 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Our office is located at 2530 Bradford Hicks Dr. Livingston, TN. Light refreshments will be served.
Kerry King and staff will provide information about farm programs, county committee election process, eligibility requirements, and will be available for questions. This is a great opportunity for producers to meet the Overton/Pickett FSA county committee. District Director Tammy Tidwell will be present to share information with producers.
Farm Loan Manager Chad Huddleston will be onsite to inform producers about low interest farm loans, and eligibility requirements. Stop in to meet Mr. Huddleston to learn more about farm loans and how they can work for you.
Representatives from Natural Resource Conservation Service for Overton County Darrell Beason and Pickett County Dwight Dixon will be present. Field staff will be available to discuss the current Conservation Programs that are being offered to local farmers and landowners. Learn how to unlock your farms potential with new innovative Soil Health Management Systems.
Jeff Thompson the area forester for Overton, Clay, and Pickett Counties will be present. The Division of Forestry works to protect the forests that cover half the state and provides more than 60,000 jobs. Forests help promote clean water, wildlife habitat, and recreation. Since trees provide energy savings and storm water reduction and add scenic beauty, the division is also working to market the benefits of adding trees to urban areas.
Wayne Key from Overton County Extension Service will be available. The University of Tennessee Extension and 4-H provide educational outreach and service to the farmers, families, and youth to enhance their quality of life. The Overton/Pickett FSA staff look forward to seeing all of you on this day!
