Sudden heavy rains cause flooding

Sudden heavy rains cause floodingTorrential rains fell down quickly on the town of Byrdstown and parts of the county Sunday morning causing many flooded areas.
A water gauge, at a residence in town, collected 2.25 inches which fell in about an hour’s time.
The road in front of Town Hall was flooded with the waters moving large railroad ties that were in the adjacent parking lot. Several roads were nearly impassable until the water receded a few hours later.
Pictured above is the flooding that was located beside Volunteer Energy Cooperative on Olympus Drive.
