Pickett County Commissioners accept Daniel Masiongale’s resignation at October 21st meeting

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session Oct. 21, 2013. Present and presiding was the Honorable Lana Rossi, Chairman and Robert Lee, Clerk of the Court.
All commissioners were present except for Eddie Holt and Daniel Masiongale were absent. The following preceding were had and entered on the court minutes as wit:
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Becky Matheny to approve the agenda as amended. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Becky Matheny and seconded by Darrell Garrett to approve minutes from the Sept. 19th meeting and the Sept. 30, 2013 Special Called meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Lowell Winningham and seconded by Darrell Garrett to approve Notary Renewals: Jamie L. Guffey and Kathy Mae Beaty. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Becky Matheny and seconded by Colan Huddleston to approve September 2013 Monthly Reports for County General, Debt Service and Solid Waste Funds for Y2013/2014. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Lowell Winningham and seconded by Darrell Garrett to approve Resolution #13/14-8 Initial Resolution authorizing the incurrence of indebtedness by Pickett County, Tennessee, of not to exceed $1,483,000 by the execution with the public building authority of the city of Clarksville, TN of a loan agreement to convert to certain outstanding note issues to a loan, to provide funding for certain public works projects and to fund the incidental and necessary expenses related thereto. All ayes, except Doug Manis and Terry Manis who passed. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Joe Harden and seconded by Doug Manis to approve Daniel Masiongale's resignation from the County Legislative Body as County Commissioner of the 3rd District. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Becky Matheny to approve Drug Fund Budget Amendment #1 for FY 13/14, as presented by Dana Dowdy, Pickett County Sheriff. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Kenny Tompkins and seconded by Colan Huddleston to accept bid from Custom Industrial Electric for wiring and hook-up of generator for the Bolestown Community Center and Fire Hall in the amount of $8,453.00 with Pickett County General Fund being responsible for the Bolestown Community Center in the amount of $4,226.00. The approval of this bid is subject to all of the bid specifications being met. All ayes. Motion carried.

•Other Business
A) Steve Walker to address full commission concerning highway department loan
B) Hazel Rauch to address full commission concerning archives.
Prior to item C there was a 5-minute break.
C) Discuss options on Hotel/Motel Tax Revenue
D) Discuss options on Beer Sales on Sunday Revenue
E) Discuss options on Wheel Tax Revenue

•Passed a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Becky Matheny to adjourn without roll call until the next regular County Court Meeting scheduled for November 18, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Pickett County Library.
