On Nov.1, Pickett Care and Rehabilitation Center held their 8th annual Hall of Fame Café. The Hall of Fame Café designed to honor resident, citizen, and stakeholder leaders that have served our community and nation with distinction.
The 2013 inductees include Glenn “Pig” Parris, Jerry Stover, and Jean McIver Hall. This year’s event may well have been the most entertaining yet.
The evening proved to be a wonderful occasion of spontaneous interaction between inductees and the audience. This included an impromptu dance when Jerry Stover asked Jean Hall to dance to the Tennessee waltz much to the delight of the crowd, and some humorous banter between Pig Parris and Jerry Stover regarding the UT flags presented by the DAV.
The show ended with a rousing rendition of Rocky Top by Jimmy Bilbrey when the entire crowd joined in the chorus. So rousing was the event that even a die-hard Kentucky fan (J.R. Simmons) was spotted singing Rocky Top at the top of his lungs.
Pickett Care and Rehab would like to thank musicians Jimmy Bilbrey and Gary Allen, photographer Brian Raef, and the DAV for their participation in the program. We would also like to thank our inductees and their families for their help in the presentation and production of the program.
The Hall of Fame Café is an original production of Signature Healthcare in honor of our home town heroes.
