Veterans Day Program held

Veterans Day was celebrated Nov. 11th. All across this great nation, veterans were honored. In celebration, Hull-York Chapter 5 DAV presented the Color Guard at Pickett County High School.
Earl Claborn, our veterans service officer served as master of ceremonies. Bob Mullins lead with a prayer. The flag was presented and pledge of allegiance was said by all. Taps was played by William Corya. The Star Spangled Banner was sung by Ryan Aldridge. County Executive Stephen Bilbrey gave a speech, as did Les Winningham our State Representative. Luke Garrett, Nathan Winningham and Ben Cross presented each veteran with a poem honoring the veterans present at this ceremony.
