Commission Meetings
he Pickett County Board of Commissioners will have their regular 
monthly meeting at the Pickett County Library Community Room at 6:00 
p.m. on the following dates:
•Monday, November 19, 2018
•Monday, December 17, 2018
The public is invited to attend.

Pancake Breakfast
Taylor's Crossroads Vol. Fire Department will be having a pancake 
breakfast at Independence Community Center Saturday, Oct. 20, 
6:00-10:00. You will get three pancakes, two pieces of sausage, your 
choice of coffee, orange juice, milk or a bottle of water-$7 a plate.

DAV Meeting
DAV meeting will be the 2nd Saturday of each month beginning at 9:30 
a.m. at the Cordell Hull Birthplace.

Rescue Squad meeting
Pickett Co. Rescue Squad regular monthly meeting will be held the 
first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at rescue squad building.

Weight Watchers
Every Tuesday with weigh-in at 4:45, meeting at 5:15 p.m. at 
Byrdstown Methodist Church. For info call (606) 688-0119.

American Legion Post 9 will meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 
Dixie Cafe, 7 p.m.

opening my office on Saturdays from 8-11 a.m.

PAWS of Dale Hollow meets the first Thursday of every month at the 
Country Kitchen at 11:30 a.m. The public is invited.

Retired Military
The Retired Military Breakfast will meet at the Dixie Cafe on 
Saturday, Oct. 20th at 8:00 a.m.

Bingo will be at the Pickett Care & Rehab dining room every 4th 
Thursday of the month at 2:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For questions

Masonic Meeting
The Byrdstown Masonic Lodge #496 meets the first Monday of each 
month. We eat at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting is at 7:00 p.m.

Board Meeting
The Pickett County Board of Education will meet Thursday, October 25, 
at 7:00 p.m. in the office of the director of schools. There will be 
a work session at 6:30. Comments from the public are welcomed by the 
Pickett County Board of Education.

Parade Theme
The 2018 Christmas Parade Theme is “A Story Book Christmas”. Theme 
also applies to Best Decorated Home and Merchant. Please stop by Town 
Hall to sign up. Town Hall Hours: 7:00-4:30 Monday-Friday.

Christmas Marketplace
Pickett County Library will be hosting a Christmas Marketplace Friday 
afternoon Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1. This will be a unique 
shopping experience composed of local crafters, merchants and home/
party retailers. The Marketplace will take place between 3 p.m. and 7 
p.m Friday and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday. If you are interested in 
being a vendor at the marketplace, call the library at 864-6281 to 
sign up for your booth today. Preference will be given to Pickett 
County residents.

Bake & Craft Sale
Williams Chapel Church will be having a bake and craft sale Sat. Oct. 
20 from 8:00-? at B&K. All proceeds will go to ship shoeboxes for 
Operation Christmas Child.

Open House
The Byrdstown Head Start invite everyone to Open House on Thursday, 
Oct. 18 from 1-4 p.m. Their will be open house festivities, meet the 
staff and enjoy fellowship with the community.
