Friends of Byrdstown Meeting
 Meets at the first Thursday of the month, 11 a.m. at the Dixie Cafe. Anyone is welcomed to attend and help be a part of helping bring our community together to revitalize downtown and also bring events.

Commissioners Meeting
The Pickett County Board of Commissioners will have their regular 
monthly meeting at the Pickett County Library Community Room at 6:00 
p.m. on the following dates:
•       Monday, November 20
•       Monday, December 18
The public is invited to attend.

Get your pets spay/neutered, PAWS has grant money to help. Call 
864-8550 leave a message and we will get back to you.

PAWS will meet on Nov. 2nd at 11:30 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. 
Public is welcome to attend.

Christmas Parade
The 2017 Christmas Parade Theme is “Our 100th Christmas”. This theme 
also applies to Best Decorated Home and Merchant. Please stop by Town 
Hall to sign up. Town Hall Hours: 7:00-4:30 Monday-Friday.

DAV Meeting
The DAV Hull-York Chapter 5 will meet the second Saturday monthly at 
9:30 a.m. at the Cordell Hull Museum.

Rescue Squad meeting
Pickett Co. Rescue Squad regular monthly meeting will be held the 
first Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at rescue squad building.

Holiday Closing
The Pickett County Executive’s Office will be closed Friday, Nov. 10 
to observe the Veteran’s Day Holiday. The office will re-open with 
regular business hours on Monday, Nov. 13.

Holiday Closing
Town Hall will be closed on Friday, Nov. 10th, in observance of 
Veterans’ Day. The office will reopen on Monday, November 13th.

The monthly meeting of the L.B.J.& C. Head Start Policy Council has 
been scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 7, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The 
meeting will be held at the L.B.J.& C. Development Corporation, 1150 
Chocolate Drive, Cookeville.

Masonic Meeting
The Byrdstown Masonic Lodge #496 meets the first Monday of each 
month. We eat at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting is at 7:00 p.m.

Tree Lighting
Dec. 1st at the Pickett County Library, free hot chocolate, coffee, 
hot dogs, marshmallows, live entertainment.

American Legion Post 9 will meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 
Dixie Cafe, 7 p.m.

Chili Dinner
PCHS Football will be having a chili dinner on Nov. 7th at 5 p.m. at 
the Ag Building. The price is $15 per person or $25 a couple. Student-
$5 each. There will also be a silent auction that night. Please come 
out and support football.

Weight Watchers
Every Tuesday with weigh-in at 4:45, meeting at 5:15 p.m. at 
Byrdstown Methodist Church. For more info call Tina Storie 397-1779.

Boston Butts
PCHS Football is selling boston butts-$30 and orders need to be in by 
Nov. 3rd. We will have extra also. Pick up dates will be Nov. 10 and

5K Walk/Run
3rd Annual Golden 5K Walk/Run for missionaries serving in Tennessee 
is set for Saturday, Nov. 4, 9 a.m. (registration begins at 8) at

Pickett Board of
Education Meeting

The Pickett County Board of Education will meet Monday, Nov. 13, at 
6:00 p.m. in the office of the director of schools. There will be a 
work session at 5:30. Comments from the public are always welcomed by 
the Pickett County Board of Education.

The Andrew and Sally Koger Beaty Reunion will be held at the Wolf 
River United Methodist Church in Pall Mall on Saturday, Nov. 4 
beginning at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are encouraged to come and 
bring copies of photos and memorabilia to share with others. A 
potluck lunch served at 12:00 noon and a group photo will be taken at

The November Chamber Board of Directors Meeting will be held 
Thursday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. at the Welcome Center/Chamber of 
Commerce. Lunch catered by Subway.

Holiday Closing
The L.B.J.& C. Development Corporation Head Start Central Office and 
Head Start Centers will be closed Nov. 10, in observance of Veteran's 
Day. The Centers will also be closed Nov. 23rd and 24th, in 
observance of Thanksgiving.
