The Pickett County Board of Commissioners will have their regular
monthly meeting at the Pickett County Library Community Room at 6:00
p.m. on the following date:

Pickett County Library will be hosting a Christmas Marketplace Friday
afternoon Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1. This will be a unique
shopping experience composed of local crafters, merchants and home/
party retailers. The Marketplace will take place between 3 p.m. and 7
p.m Friday and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday. If you are interested in
being a vendor at the marketplace, call the library at 864-6281 to
sign up for your booth today. Preference will be given to Pickett
The 2018 Christmas Parade Theme is “A Story Book Christmas”. Theme
also applies to Best Decorated Home and Merchant. Please stop by Town
Hall to sign up. Town Hall Hours: 7:00-4:30 Monday-Friday.
There will be a bake sale on December 1st 7-? at B&K to help pay for
the funeral expenses of Delaine Cross's sister Deb Durham.
The L.B.J.& C. Development Corporation Head Start Central Office and
Head Start Centers will be closed Nov. 22rd and 23rd, in observance
Rescue Squad meeting
Pickett Co. Rescue Squad regular monthly meeting will be held the
first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at rescue squad building.
PAWS of Dale Hollow meets the first Thursday of every month at the
Country Kitchen at 11:30 a.m. The public is invited.
Every Tuesday with weigh-in at 4:45, meeting at 5:15 p.m. at

DAV meeting will be the 2nd Saturday of each month beginning at 9:30
a.m. at the Cordell Hull Birthplace. December 8th the Christmas
Breakfast will be held.
Patriots to meet
The Overton County Patriots will meet Monday, Nov. 26, at 6 p.m. in
the Millard Oakley Public Library in Livingston. Speaker this month
is Bryant Dunaway, the District Attorney General for the 13th
Judicial District of Tennessee. He will be speaking to the OCP about
the 2nd Amendment and new gun laws in Tennessee. Everyone is invited
The Pickett County Executive’s Office will be closed Thursday, Nov.
22, and Friday, Nov. 23, to observe the Thanksgiving Day Holiday. The
office will close at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 21, and will re-open
with regular business hours on Monday, Nov. 26.
Town Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 22 & 23, in
observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. We will reopen on Monday,
The Byrdstown Masonic Lodge #496 meets the first Monday of each
month. We eat at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting is at 7:00 p.m.
American Legion Post 9 will meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at
Dixie Cafe, 7 p.m.
The 5th grade class of Pickett County K-8 will be having a bake sale
Wednesday, Nov. 21, at B&K Grocery beginning at 8:00 a.m. Come and
purchase some delicious homemade baked goods for your Thanksgiving
Day celebrations! All proceeds will go to benefit the 5th grade

Board of Education
The Pickett County Board of Education will meet Monday, December 10,
2018 at 6 p.m. in the office of the director of schools. There will
