Community Calendar

Masonic Meeting
The Byrdstown Masonic Lodge #496 meets the first Monday of each month. We eat at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting is at 7:00 p.m.

Rescue Squad meeting
Pickett Co. Rescue Squad regular monthly meeting will be held the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at rescue squad building.

Meeting
American Legion Post 9 will meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Dixie Cafe, 7 p.m.

Donations needed
Donations are needed for the mowing of Reedertown Cemetery. Donations can be made at Peoples Bank or to Curt Walker. All donations are appreciated.

Bake Sale
A bake sale will be held at B&K Friday beginning at 7:30 a.m. with 
all proceeds going to the Jared and Julia Barber family.

Class Reunion
The PCHS Class of 1958 reunion will be held Sat., May 27th at 11 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. Everyone please attend, we would love to see everyone.

Meeting
The Pickett Co. Board of Education will meet Monday, June 12, at 7 p.m. at the office of the director of schools. There will be a work 
session at 6:30. Comments from the public are welcomed by the Pickett Co. Board of Education.

Holiday Notice
The Pickett County Executive Office will be closed Monday, May 29 to observe the Memorial Day Holiday. The office will re-open on Tuesday, May 30 at regular business hours.

Decoration
Decoration Day at Davidson Cemetery in Pall Mall will be held Sunday, May 28th with donations being collected. If you are unable to attend and would like to donate for the upkeep of the cemetery please send to: Joe Sells, 900 Dogwood Rd., Pall Mall, TN 38577. Please have all flowers on the ground removed by June 16th for mowing and weed-eating.

Holiday Closing
Pickett County Library will be closed May 27th and 29th for Memorial Day.

Reunion
The Russell Family Reunion will be held at Chanute Community Center on Saturday, May 27th with lunch at 12 noon. Please bring a covered dish.

Decoration
Decoration will be held on Sunday, May 28, at 10:00 a.m. The cemetery will be mowed Thursday, May 25. Please do not decorate graves until after the cemetery is mowed. If you have family members buried there we encourage you to attend and donate to the cemetery fund. Donations 
are needed for the upkeep of the cemetery and can be mailed directly to Union Bank, c/o Robbinstown Cemetery, P.O. Box 100, Jamestown, TN 38556. You can also mail a check to Shirley Adkins, 4288 Cordell Drive, Dayton, OH 45439.

Meeting
Bethsadia Cemetery Association will meet Sunday, May 28th at 1:30 p.m. at Bethsadia Church.

Reunion Meeting
The members of Class of 1969 wil meet May 30th at 6 p.m. at Bobcat Restaurant to discuss the class reunion scheduled on June 17 at 2 p.m. at the Bobcat. Please attend if possible.

Bake Sale
There will be a bake sale May 27th at 7:30 p.m.-? at B&K. All 
proceeds will go toward Smyrna Cemetery. Donations are needed for the upkeep of the cemetery and can be sent to Mary Mitchell, 2375 Fairview Rd., Byrdstown, TN 38549.

Decoration
Williams Chapel decoration will be held May 28th. Please do not 
decorate until May 25th after 4 p.m. so that the mowing can be done.

Donations needed
Donations are needed for the Chanute-Campbell Cemetery and can be made at Regions Bank, 202 W. Main St. or mailed to Brenda Murphy, 5098 Koger Mountain Rd., Pall Mall TN 38577.

Holiday Closing
The L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation Central Office will be closed Monday, May 29, 2017 in observance of Memorial Day.

Decoration
Mullins Cemetery (Red Hill) will be mowed Friday, May 26, for 
decoration. Donations are needed for the upkeep. Donations can be made at Peoples Bank Byrdstown or mailed to Lisa Warden, 3035 Mullins Road Byrdstown, TN  38549. Please have your name written on the deposit slip.

Meeting Cancelled
The Pickett County Corrective Partnership Committee meeting 
scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 5, at the Pickett County 
Library Community Room has been cancelled.

Friends of Byrdstown meeting
The Friends of Byrdstown will meet on Thursday, May 25th at 11 a.m. at the Dixie Cafe. This meeting will be to finalize plans for the music on the square event and incorporating the Town of Byrdstown's 100th year with the 4th of July celebration. Everyone is invited to attend the meeting or to help with the event planning.
